Former News Anchor Sentenced for Hacking Cohost's E-mail

Today, a Chicago anchorman was sentenced to six months of house arrest for hacking into his co-anchor's email and leaking embarrassing personal messages to tabloids.

Hacker Indicted in Palin Email Scandal

The 20-year old University of Tennessee student who hacked Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin's email was indicted this week by a grand jury. David C. Kernell face a $250,000 fine and up to five years in prison if convicted of unlawfully accessing Palin's personal email and posting its contents on the Web site 4Chan.

Kernell is the son of a prominent Tennesee Democrat. Some had accused the Alaskan governor of using her personal email for government business, a claim never proven. Read more in PC Magazine.

TN Democrat's Son Linked to Palin's Hacked Email

30446502 The son of a prominent Tennessee Democrat was tied to a hack job of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's personal email account. FBI agents served a warrant at a Tennessee apartment over the weekend searching for more details in the case. Once the Republican vice presidential nominee's email was hacked, some claimed she used it to conduct state business. Later, some said it was businesses that could not be done on the state's email system, which would have been a violation of election laws. Read more

News Anchor Spies on Collegue

a CBS news anchor in Philadelphia faces up to six months in jail for hacking into a collegue's email. 51-year old Larry Mendte's actions led to the firing of his coanchor. When officials discovered Mendte had spied on her, he, too, was terminated. (Read more)

Privacy: Do You Have It At Work?

30446546 Workplace privacy is a hot topic.

In Washington, businesses are lobbying Congress to approve the Employee Free Choice Act. This act would make voting for unions public. Employees would have to disclose their names and their votes to employers.
