Is Nursing Home Neglect Common?

Tonight, ABC World News highlighted a terrifying problem: Nursing home neglect that leaves friends and loved ones with bruises and other health problems.

The store sites a new report that shows 92 percent of nearly 15,000 nursing homes were cited for violations over the last three years. The federal citations don't carry much weight, so some states are stepping up to take care of seniors who need daily care, according to the story. Read it here

TN Nursing Homes

In Tennessee, officials suspended two nursing homes from taking on new patients because of various violations. Among the charges, state officials say the nursing homes did not protect residents. (Read more)
