Woman Gets Prison in 2001 Dog Attack

This week, a San Francisco woman was sentenced to 15 years in prison after her dog mauled her neighbor to death. At least one of the woman's aggressive dogs attacked a 33-year old college Lacrosse coach, killing the woman with more than 70 bites to her body. (Read more in the San Francisco Chronicle)

Over the weekend, a Florida police dog bit a man mistaken for a suspect in a case. The man was later arrested on weapon and drug charges, according to The Ledger in Lakeland, Fla. Earlier this month, The Chicago Tribune reported that five children were bitten on a school playground by a dog without tags.

A 12-year construction veteran died while working on the roof of a modular home. The accident happened last week at the Fuqua plant in Boonville.

Officials Investigate NY Crane Collapse

The Manhattan D.A.'s office is trying to determine if a crane involved in a fatal Friday accident had previously been damaged. Two workers were killed and one injured when the crane fell apart at a construction site on East 91st Street. The Kodiak model crane was 24 years old. (Read more in The New York Times)

Victims Tells How to Prevent Dog Bites

In Jacksonville, Fla., a woman will undergo extensive reconstructive surgery after she was bitten by a friend's Boston terrier. The professional dog trainer wants others to know how to prevent dog bites during National Dog Bite Prevention Week - this week. Read more about her story in at News4Jax.com
