Gun Sales Soar Before Inauguration

32338566 Fearing harsh gun restrictions that will make purchasing weapons and ammunition nearly impossible during the next presidential administration, Missourians are stocking up. Sales have soared at many stores. Some gun dealers say this always happens before a gun conservative administration takes office.

On Sunday, the Springfield News-Leader tackled gun issues in southwest Missouri, and the fear of some that using weapons will become a financial hardship - or worse.

Ohio Institutes Castle Doctrine

Ohio prosecutors are concerned that residents will take advantage of the new Castle Doctrine there. The law means that residents who fight intruders at their homes or in vehicles are automatically assumed to have been acting in self defense.

Atlanta Airport Should Allow Guns

Debate over a new concealed weapons law is heating up in Georgia. Gov. Sonny Perdue backs a plan to allow guns at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. If approved, weapons would only be allowed in unsecured areas. This month, a new rule allows anyone who passes a background check to carry concealed weapons in restaurants, state parks and while riding public transportation. High Court Rules Against Gun Bans

The U.S. Supreme Court struck down a weapons ban in the District of Columbia. The 5-4 ruling says that individuals in D.C. have the right to protect themselves under the Second Amendment. The decision calls into question similar bans in other metropolitan areas, including Chicago.

KS Lawmakers Review Concealed Weapons Law

32338566 The conceal and carry law in Kansas is under scrutiny by lawmakers. The law was changed last year to prohibit counties and cities from creating their own concealed weapons laws. It also allows people to carry weapons into buildings such as schools that do not post signs to the contrary. (Read more at NTV.com)
